PRESIDENT JONATHAN COMMISERATES WITH MALLAM EL-RUFAI ON THE LOSS OF HIS SON

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has received with a deep sense of grief and shock, news of the sudden and untimely death of Hamza El-Rufai, son of the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

On behalf of himself, his family and the Federal Government, President Jonathan extends his heartfelt commiserations to Mallam el-Rufai and all members of the el-Rufai family.

The President says although no amount of words can fill the deep gap created by the loss of Hamza, he hopes that the outpouring of support at this moment by friends and associates will comfort Mallam El-Rufai.

President Jonathan prays for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed and also for God's blessing, comfort and protection for Mallam El-Rufai and the rest of his family.

Nasir El-Rufai Comes Under Fire For Sending His Daughter Abroad For Studies

Former FCT minister Nasir El-Rufai was blasted by Nigerians for sending his daughter to  a foreign university.


El-Rufai had posted a picture from his daughter’s graduation, with the caption “Another daughter graduates with a good honours degree……congratulations Kheria…..”

People however criticized him for sending his daughter to school abroad when they felt he could have done something about it when he was a stronghold in the Obasanjo regime.

A former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasir El-Rufai, has insisted that the party’s choice of presidential candidate would not be dictated by religion.“Politics and governance are not to be mixed or dictated to by any religion,” Mr. El-Rufai said.

Mr. El-Rufai, in a statement on Tuesday, stated that the party’s candidates for the 2015 presidential poll should be picked on individual competence rather than religious affiliation.

“APC will present an integrity-competence ticket not religion. Politics and governance are not to be mixed or dictated to by any religion,” Mr. El-Rufai said.

SSS summons El-Rufai, warns against inciting statements

The  State Security Service   has  invited a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai,  to appear at its headquarters in Abuja on Friday (today) over a statement attributed to him in the Thursday edition of  a national daily newspaper (not The PUNCH).

El-Rufai,  who is also the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress,  was said to have been invited to clarify the statement  in which he allegedly said   that “the next election  are  likely to be violent and that  many people are likely going to die.”
