Tinubu has turned APC to private property – Ikimi

The estranged pioneer member of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Tom Ikimi, on Wednesday attributed his grouse with the party to the tyrannical approach to leadership by some of the leaders of the APC, including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

He said before Tinubu singlehandedly chose the former Edo State governor, John Odigie-Oyegun, he had threatened “fire and brimstone” if he did not emerge as the party’s national chairman at last Saturday’s national convention of the APC.

Ikimi said Tinubu operated caucuses whose membership varied from time to time subject to his whims and caprice.

Why I left APC — Femi Fani-Kayode

I declared for the APC in June last year in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State well before the party was registered by INEC.         I formally joined the party, amidst great fanfare, on 7th February, 2014 in my hometown, Ile-Ife and I registered my membership on that day. The registration was done outside the Ooni’s palace and it was done in the prescence of the media, numerous party leaders in the state, including Hon. Rotimi Makinde, who represents Ile-Ife at the Federal House of Representatives, and all the other key leaders of the APC in the state and Ife-Ife including Chief Akantioke and Alhaji Soko Adewoyin the former  Deputy Governor of Osun state.

BE READY TO PAY THE PRICE OF TREASON, PRESIDENCY WARNS APC

We have noted with utter disdain, the reckless and  irresponsible call by the APC on Sunday for the National Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against President Goodluck Jonathan.
Ordinarily, we would not have dignified Alhaji Lai Mohammed's latest vituperations in the service of his paymasters with a response, but we thought it necessary to warn that the Federal Government will not standby idly and let the nation be plunged into unnecessary crises and political instability because of the desperation and apparent readiness of the APC spokesman and his gang of power-seeking desperadoes to sacrifice the well-being of the country on the altar of their selfish personal ambitions.
The Presidency totally condemns the decision by Alhaji Mohammed and his party to move further beyond the bounds of honourable and acceptable political conduct with the senseless call for the impeachment of a President who continues to sincerely devote himself to the discharge of the sacred mandate freely given to him by Nigerians.

A C N to Jonathan: What more proof do you need to sack Okupe

The Action Congress of Nigeria has challenged President Goodluck Jonathan to tell Nigerians and the world at large why he is yet to fire Dr Doyin Okupe his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs in the face of incontrovertible evidence that his top media aide did in fact swindle the Benue State Government of a whopping sum of N886 million as confirmed by the Benue State Government.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary Alhaji Lai Mohammed the party said with the statement credited to the Benue State Government, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission must urgently institute a thorough investigation of these allegations.
