Tottenham produced a superb performance

Tottenham produced a superb performance to increase the pressure on Sunderland.
The league's bottom side began well when Lee Cattermole punished a defensive error, but Spurs levelled soon after when Emmanuel Adebayor converted Christian Eriksen's cross.
Eriksen then supplied the ball for Harry Kane's tap-in before he got on the scoresheet with a low strike.
Adebayor poked in his second after Vito Mannone had saved Kane's shot before Gylfi Sigurdsson smashed in a fifth.
Although Spurs were not undeserving of the 5-1 scoreline, they owed their crushing win to poor Sunderland defending as much as a great attacking display.

Spurs edge United in pulsating encounter

Tottenham edged Manchester United 2-1 in a breathless encounter at Old Trafford as the hosts’ hopes of retaining their Premier League title suffered a potentially fatal blow.
Emmanuel Adebayor planted a header beyond David De Gea to give Spurs the lead before Roberto Soldado missed a glaring opportunity to add a second when he blazed wide from close range.
But it took until just after the hour mark for the game to explode into life. First, the visitors doubled their advantage when Christian Eriksen stooped to head home Aaron Lennon’s deflected effort before United hit back instantly when Danny Welbeck clipped home from inside the area.

Adebayor Slams Tottenham

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor has accused Tottenham of disrespecting him.

He scored twice on his first Premier League start of the season as Spurs beat Southampton 3-2 on Sunday.

But the 29-year-old forward was not included on the club’s official photograph and trained on his own while Andre Villas-Boas was manager.

“It was difficult,” said Adebayor. “When I come to train and see the team picture, which I’m not involved in, that shows me a lot of disrespect.”
