PRESIDENT JONATHAN APPOINTS NEW DG OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Ambassador Ayo Oke as the new Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

Ambassador Oke who hails from Oyo State takes over from the outgoing Director-General of the Agency, Ambassador Ezekiel Olaniyi Oladeji whose tenure has elapsed.

Ambassador Oke is a career diplomat who was formerly at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. Until his appointment as Director-General, he was the Director (Regions) at the Headquarters of the NIA.

President Jonathan has similarly approved the appointments of Mr. E.O. Okafor (Anambra State) as Deputy Director-General (Operations) and Mr. Arap A. Yadam (Plateau State) as Deputy Director-General (Administration) of the NIA.

All three appointments are with immediate effect.
